Structural Alignment is about improving the structure of the body, including posture and structural conditions that interfere with physical function.
The Aim is to facilitate restoration of the internal environment to support recovery and long-term stable and stress-resistant physical effects. The way we move and hold our body, is uniquely individual, as it is a physical expression of our personal identity.
Treatment is gentle, smooth and relaxing.
Clients report a deep sense of comfort and movement. Clients also experience flexibility and a well-balanced posture. For those with chronic conditions such as scoliosis, clients report an improved alignment of their spine, including less effort to move, as they can adapt and compensate for their condition more easily. In other words, they feel better within themselves and their body.
Mental & Emotional Impacts
Our physical body relates to our inner mental & emotional wellbeing, known as ‘intrinsic structural alignment.’ A person’s own centre of gravity (inner forces) has a significant impact on their external centre of gravity, as one impacts the other.
The Relationship between Energy & Structure Muscles determine the body’s alignment of the physical structure. The link between the muscles and life energy are our emotions.
Mind and emotions work together and are interrelated to body structure and function. A balanced interaction creates ease and comfort.
A person’s pattern of thoughts, beliefs, values & emotions, combine to form a person’s internal centre of gravity, around which their whole life revolves.
An improved ‘internal gravity’ affects the person’s intrinsic structural alignment, resulting in adaptability and pliability. This also determines how well their physical structure copes with external forces.
A Structural Alignment Session is an integrated adjustment of all parts of the body – anatomically, mechanically and physiologically.
The aim is restoration of the internal environment to support recovery of long-term stability & stress resistant physical effects. A structural balancing session aims to optimise a physical correction in addition to harmonising any resulting mental & emotional impacts.
Areas of concern are treated specifically but always in relation to the whole, as there is a bigger picture to consider.
