Qi Gong: an ideal practice for seniors

What is Qi Gong?

According to traditional Chinese medicine, Qi is energy or life force which circulates through the body enhancing health and vitality. Through practicing Qi Gong, you can learn to become calm, serene and present.

What are the main benefits of Qi Gong?

Regular practice helps to maintain health by creating a state of mental and physical calmness – indicating the Qi energy is balanced and in harmony. This allows the body, mind & spirit to function more efficiently, with the least amount of stress.

Is it a suitable exercise for seniors?

The health benefits of Qi Gong exercises can improve the quality of life of everyone who practices it – regardless of age and physical limitations. Seniors can experience an increase in their balance, stamina & strength.

Is Qi Gong suitable for people with chronic conditions?

In China, Qi Gong is used extensively for people with cancer. Qi Gong’s physical and spiritual routines move Qi in the body, to balance, smooth and strengthen the flow of energy. Chinese medicine uses Qi Gong exercises to prevent illness as well as improve and maintain general health & wellbeing.

What does an hour Qi Gong class involve?

At Bodysoul Energy, during our retreats, we combine both Tai Chi & Qi Gong as both forms of exercise improve blood & energy circulation and increase flexibility. Our class commences with joint releases & breathing exercises to warm up the body. This flows naturally into Qi Gong followed by Tai Chi. This class is excellent for Seniors.

What our clients say...

“I experienced your gentle and steady focus, felt nurtured and cared for. I felt you held the space strongly enough for me to be fully present in whatever energies you were calling in.”

G. Stern Bellingen

“During the Body Intelligence treatment with Glenda, I experienced a remarkable shift in my state of being – from stress, to peace of mind and calmness. Her caring, wisdom and gentle application of a number of procedures allowed my body and mind to respond and return to balance with ease. Thank you Glenda, for bringing your unique gifts and application to this therapy”.

S. Bennett Brisbane

'Highly intuitive' is the first phrase that comes to mind when I think about Glenda, along with 'thorough and well-prepared'. I've had the pleasure of her expert coaching and whole-hearted contribution to several personal/professional support groups over the past 15 years that we've known each other. I always leave our interactions feeling affirmed and energised, clearer about the past and what it's taught me, and more optimistic as I look to the future. I'm in awe of her ability to respectfully push the boundaries of what I think is possible, and I'm grateful for all of the times she has challenged me to embrace a bigger vision."
